Owl Mask
Now that preparations for Halloween are just beginning, here is a fun idea.
All you need to make the mask is a printer, some ribbon and a selection of papers. I’ve tried two different colourways – do message me pictures if you make a mask and try a different selection of colours – I would love to see them.
Materials
-
Paper – mixed colours
Tools
Sharp point for scoring (compass/needle)
Step 1
Print out the mask onto a piece of A4 Steel Blue card. Set your printing preferences to ‘photo’ and ‘grayscale’. Cut along the outside edge of the mask and nose and carefully cut out the eye holes.
Step 2
Punch out a hole on either side to thread your ribbon through.

Step 3
Place the beak on a work surface and score along the dotted lines using a ruler and pointy object (such as compass or needle). Fold along each of these lines and glue the beak into place.
Step 4
Print out the feathers onto sheets of different coloured paper. Set your printing preferences to ‘photo’ and ‘grayscale’. Cut out the big feathers.
Step 5
Place the large feathers on a work surface and score along the mid-line using a ruler and pointy object (such as compass or needle). Fold in half.
Step 6
Cut out the small feathers.
Step 7
Thread the silver ribbon through the holes and glue the small feathers on. Begin with the bottom feathers, overlapping as you go. When all the small feathers are glued into place trim any pieces that are sticking out over the edge of the mask.
Step 8
Glue the feathers into place - and you are done! Happy Halloween!
